ABOUT

Born in Lake Forest, IL

Remeniuk's art career began in the public schools in the northern suburbs of Chicago. During this time he found his passion for ceramics as well as showing others the power of art. Pursuing a career in the arts and education Remeniuk began his undergraduate work at Oakton Community College and eventually graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor's degree in Art Education. Teaching art, Remeniuk hopes to inspire others to see life in a different light and to further pursue the arts. Currently he teaches art at Winston Campus Junior High School.

When in the studio or the classroom teaching, Remeniuk looks towards art as a bridge to connect students to the world around them exploring cultures both past and present. Through ceramics, painting and other arts students will build their relationships with each other and dive deeper into the complexities of art in society. Some central themes around his work are impacted by our daily lives and how something so common as a plate can be viewed as a canvas to create a work of art. Remeniuk looks towards the powerful messages and ideas portrayed by artists such as Antony Gormley and Clyfford Still.
